Bangalore Mysore Ooty Tour

Upon arrival, our representative will meet and greet you at Bangalore Airport, Railway Station, or any other location in Bangalore. You will be driven to the hotel for check-in, followed by a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit Lal Bagh Botanical Garden, an 18th-century garden laid out by Hyder Ali, home to centuries-old trees and the Peninsular Gneiss (also known as the Lalbagh Rock), one of the oldest rock formations on Earth at an estimated 3,000 million years old, preserved by the Government. Next, explore the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, followed by the Venkatappa Art Gallery and Museum, which houses the 2,500-year-old Halmidi inscription. Continue to Vidhana Soudha, the magnificent stone building that serves as the seat of the Karnataka state legislature, and the ISKCON Temple, a contemporary-design temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. In the evening, experience the buzz of Brigade Road and MG Road, popular hangout spots in the city. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Bengaluru.

After breakfast by 8 am, drive to Mysore via Channapatna, known for its GI-tagged toys and dolls where you can stop for some short shopping, and Ramanagaram, famous as the silk city and for its association with the Hindi film Sholay's Ramgarh. Visit Srirangapatna, a river island formed by the River Kaveri, home to the Ranganathaswamy Temple known as the Adi Ranga, with Srirangam regarded as the Antya Ranga. Continue to Amba Vilas Palace, the official residence of the Wodeyars and the most visited tourist spot in India after the Taj Mahal, followed by Jaganmohan Palace & Art Gallery, which houses the largest collection of arts and crafts along with its art gallery. Visit Chamundi Hills, one of the seven most sacred hills, where you can see the Sri Chamundeshwari Temple, the Nandi statue, and the Mahishasura statue. Continue to Mysore Zoo, officially known as the Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden, home to over 168 species across 157 acres and located close to Mysore Palace. Visit the KRS Dam and Brindavan Gardens, known for its light and music fountain show. Drive back to the hotel by night for an overnight stay in Mysore.

After breakfast by 9 am, check out from the hotel and drive to Ooty via Gundlupet, covering approximately 132 km via NH 766 and NH 181, a journey of 5-7 hours. En route, pass through Bandipur National Park, India's first national park to use drones for tracking poachers, where deer, elephants, bison, black-faced monkeys, and other wildlife roam freely, even onto the road. A jungle jeep safari is possible here between 6 am and 9:30 am; if you wish to spot a tiger, you would need to check out of Mysore by 5:30 am. Continue to Mudumalai National Park, where jungle safaris run until 10 am. From here, two routes lead to Ooty via Masinagudi or via Gudalur and take the Gudalur route. Stop at Gudalur for a tea break after the long drive through the Bandipur and Mudumalai jungles, marking your entry into the Nilgiris, where the Western Ghats meet the Eastern Ghats. Continue on to Frog Hill View Point, a hillock named for its frog-like shape, and Needle Rock View Point, known for its windy, cloudy conditions and stunning 360-degree views. Visit Pykara Lake and Pykara Falls, where boating is optional, and take in the scenic Pykara village with its terraced farms growing cabbage, Ooty carrots, and Ooty apples. Arrive in Udhagamandalam (Udhagai/Ooty) and check into your hotel. After some rest, visit Ooty Lake and Boathouse, an artificial lake built by John Sullivan in 1824, offering paddle boats, row boats, and motor boats at an additional charge, followed by the Government Rose Garden, the largest rose garden in India, located on the slopes of Elk Hill near Ooty town. The late evening is free for shopping, with an overnight stay in Ooty.

After breakfast by 8:00 am, set out for a day of sightseeing in Ooty. Visit the Government Botanical Garden, spread across 22 hectares and one of Ooty's major attractions, followed by the Doddabetta Tea Factory and Chocolate Museum, where you can learn about tea processing and chocolate manufacturing. Head to Doddabetta Peak, at an elevation of 8,652 feet the fourth-highest peak in South India and the highest in the Nilgiris, offering panoramic 360-degree views of Ooty, Mettupalayam/Coimbatore, the Avalanche Dam, and Mukurthi Peak. Continue to Coonoor, known for Nilgiri tea production, with optional visits to Sim's Park, Dolphin's Nose, and Lamb's Rock for those interested. You may also experience the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, built in 1908 and known for its fleet of steam locomotives; UNESCO has recognized it as an extension of the World Heritage Site, though diesel locomotives now operate the section between Coonoor and Udhagamandalam. The evening is free for shopping, with an overnight stay in Ooty.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Bengaluru, covering the remaining sightseeing spots along the way, over a journey of approximately 300 km taking 9-12 hours. Upon reaching Bangalore, you will be dropped at your desired location- Airport, Bus Station, or Railway Station concluding the tour with happy memories.
